StudentsWhy are students so important to Limmud NY?

Although Limmud NY's community is made up of people of all ages, the student population is the vibrant future of the conference. It is for that reason that we value our student community and seek to provide them with a unique and stimulating program that even furthers the Limmud NY experience.

What will you do as a student participant?

  • Meet students from all over New York City, New Jersey, Boston, Connecticut, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and many more!
  • Participate in opening session, closing event, and oneg Shabbat programs that are specifically for students.
  • Attend panels, eat meals, watch performances, and learn from renowned Jewish educators, performers, and presenters from around the country.
  • Enjoy a unique Jewish experience like one you have never done before!
  • High School students have their own program with special sessions led by Limmud NY presenters. See the 2006 High School Program here.
  • College students will have opportunities to have intimate sessions with presenters and other college students. See information about the 2006 College Student program here.
  • Volunteer! Limmud NY is a community of volunteers who have worked all year to execute the conference. Volunteers also make up the "staff" that works the conference itself. Students will have the same opportunities to volunteer as everyone else (and get a behind-the-scenes look at everything!) - at the help desk, as welcome greeters, setting up rooms, and more! Student Fellows are required to volunteer a minimum of 5 hours.

Scholarships

We know that on a student's budget, Limmud NY can seem expensive. That's why we have several different financial options to make your attendance at Limmud NY easier and more affordable.

Discounted Student Price

Because students are such a vital part of the Limmud NY community, all high school, college, and graduate students are offered a student rate to attend the conference.

Student Fellowship

Limmud NY Student Fellows are selected by an application process and if chosen, agree to volunteer at least five hours at Limmud NY. The Student Fellow registration fee is $199 for three nights or $229 for four nights. More information can be found on the registration page. The application is included at the end of the registration form online.

Additional Scholarships

If your financial situation makes it impossible to pay the Student Fellow rate, we would still like to find a way for you to attend Limmud NY at a price that fits your needs. Confidential e-mails describing your situation may be sent to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it after which someone will get back to you with further information.
